Jeff Bridges

I'm really looking froward to seeing his new film, Crazy Heart, where he plays a washed up Country singer. Hotly tipped for a Oscar..although I'm not sure if he's that bothered. For me, he's just about the best actor from the US. And what's more...a damn fine fella.

There's a good interview from yesterday's Sunday Times. He's The Dude, alright.

Rave, I understand completely where you are coming from with that statement. Don't laugh but when I think of Jeff bridges I think of Dennis Wilson, kIndred spirits perhaps definitely very talented people. :)

I LOVE Jeff Bridges-no matter how he looks hes still looks GORJUS.

I always knew he had a great singing voice from the work he did in The Fabulous Baker Boys -Reqlly looking forward to this film.

His dad would be proud of him!

Fight you for him! I remember being SERIOUSLY dehydrated after seeing 'Iron Man'.... Jeff Bridges and Robert Downey Jr in the same movie?? And that voice of his....... I'm melting!!!

He's one of my favourite actors... he can go from drop dead gorgeous... (The Fabulous Baker Boys, The Fisher King) to the creepiest man ever ('The Vanishing') He was just horrible in that, when he put spiders in his daughter's lunch box to make her scream, then asked the neighbours the following day if they heard screaming before he did his first kidnapping.... my spine went icecold... but then he buried Sandra Bullock alive so not all bad!

Jeff Bridges and Tom Waits share a scene in 'The Fisher King'

I understand where you're coming from, Rob. There are a few similarities. Speaking of Dennis, Sean Rowley played a beautiful song of his, Cuddle Up, from the Carl and the Passions album, So Tough. I must get it at all costs.

Mrs Beet and I were going to see 'Crazy Heart' today.
But it will now be tomorrow.
A superb actor who richly deserved an Oscar.
'The Fisher King' was one of Gilliam's best (and of course Jeff's)
"I like a Gershwin tune
How about you"

and the superb (IMO only) 'Arlington Road' plus the others.

I've just returned from seeing 'Crazy Heart'
OK, it might have a few minor faults but, if you want a couple of hours watching some very fine acting (and he did play a great part, though any decent actor would have jumped at the chance of that part) with a relatively simple story and very little schmaltz, go see it.

You shouldn't be disappointed. A great soundtrack as well.
