Yeah I really fancy Inception. A friend told me last night that he didn't think it was that good.

I also fancy that other one 'Splice'

The other evening I was on a long distance bus,and the driver put on a CD of a 2009 film, "Rampage".

Quite what the message of this film was supposed to be was beyond me. The "hero", a facially challenged type with an ugly porcine nose & a personality about as likeable as toothache at Christmas, gets fed up with people making fun of him & so he goes off on a quite preposterous killing spree where he pretty much blasts away everyone who comes within sight. At the end he kills his only friend, and leaves his weapons with the latter, thus framing him & getting away with it all.

Spotty kids who hate the world may like this film, IMHO perfectly good electricity was used up & wasted.

... and some quality sleep time on the journey!

Sounds awful. Guess the title left few surprises though - except for how bad the film actually was. :|

Has anyone seen Stephen Kings IT?

I am going to watch it tonight because I have been told that it is so laughable it will help to cure my clown phobia :?

The clown is quite freaky I remember from that movie. It was a very long time ago I watched it though.

It goes on and on and on though. Far too long.

'The A-Team' (2010)

Well would you believe it, the've only went and made a great A-Team movie. I was sceptical going into it but it turns out that that they got the casting just right and the characters were just spot on and I was really rooting for them. The film takes us through how they got together as a group, the story of why they were imprisoned and also them trying to clear their names. The action sequences are first class and plentiful and it moves along with a great pace. They are supported by a suitable cast of bad guys and in particular a character called 'Pike' played by Brian Bloom who we could have done with seeing a bit more of. The holding off of displaying the classic A-Team imagery until the end was a great move and it also keeps it set up for a sequel which I'll be looking forward too.

9/10

Just got in from seeing it, i thought it was excellent. I am not really a film person, but do like going to the pics. I had no pre conceived ideas about this, but was more than pleasantly suprised by the concepts and notions offered up by the plotline. All connected with dreams, shared dreams, dreams within dreams, labyrinths, mazes and the subconscious I can't say i followed everthing in the story but I could follow the main story, some wonderful special effects and no love interest (thank god)

Definitely reccomend going and seeing it!

I share your sentiment there Scorpio. Nothing worse that a needless love story thrown in, and it's particularly good there's none in this since it's normally Leo DiCaprio films where the most needless love stories are found (The Beach, Blood Diamond)

I watched 'District 13' on FilmFour last night. I'd always heard good things about it and it's been on about 50 times before as is the usual for FilmFour but it was a great movie. Some first class action and stunts, interesting characters and no messing about.

Glad I'm not the only one Mosco..I just find, unless its a love story the love interest thing is just a bore!!

Now I knw why the music in Inception was sooo good..

"The box office-dominating, mind-bending film "Inception" is remarkable in a number of different ways. The story is dark and complex, the images are incredible, the effects game-changing and the performances sharp and mysterious. But one of the aspects of the film that really sticks is its sound design and music. Composer Hans Zimmer put together an incredible soundscape using a slew of orchestral tricks, a key Edith Piaf song and some choice guitar work by none other than former Smiths guitarist (and current Cribs axe man) Johnny Marr.

Marr came in late to the proceedings (most of the work on the music was already done when Zimmer tapped him to do it), but he added a number of nuances that added to the noir-romantic feel of the movie. In fact, Marr's work on one particular passage ended up becoming attached to Leonardo DiCaprio's character, morphing into his haunted, longing theme. Though subtle, Marr's work became a big part of DiCaprio's character and, in turn, a huge part of an extremely complex film.

According to Zimmer, bringing in Marr was a wish that happened to become real. "What happened was I kept writing this tune, and I kept hearing Johnny Marr play it," Zimmer told MTV News' Kara Warner at the premiere of "Inception" last week. "Finally, I said to Chris [Nolan], 'What do you think of this idea? I'm like channeling Johnny Marr by now.' And he said it was a great idea."

Went to see Shrek Forever After on Tuesday.

I won't give the plot away in case anyone is planning to see it this weekend. However, of all the Shrek series, this is the weakest by far.

Granted, the animation is stunning. However, it's badly let down by a very weak script and threadbare plot. The actors providing the voices sounded bored, and the only real saving grace came from the role of Puss in Boots, voiced by Antonio Banderas.

Overall, this hotch potch of a movie limped along slowly, very slowly.

it's been reported that this is the last of the Shrek franchise. I for one certainly hope so.

I've always thought that he was the best thing about Shrek anyway. Wonderful characterisation :D

I saw the remake of "Clash of the Titans" this week. I was wary about the same (to buy the film was Mooncat's idea rather than mine), but I found this a very enjoyable adaptation. Some characters from the earlier film have been developed, others reduced, but then there would be no point in an identical remake. Also, after years of female leads "Kicking ass" it was nice to see a heroine who was feminine rather than feminist. Great fun all round.

We bought two annual passes to the cinema the last week. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Started off with Inception. Didn't understand what it was all about to be honest. Then Shrek and Toy Story. Both good in their own way. Then some rubbish Catherine Zeta Jones film. Then Karate Kid. An enjoyable film with an excellent performance from young master Smith. Didn't manage to make the A team, so that made Eclipse the only option. There is two and a half hours of my life I wont get back. Though to be fair I don't think I am part of it's demographic audience. That's just about it till next Friday. Only about 100 films to go until the years up.

CZJ strikes me as being pretty much a Welsh version of J Lo, ie has gone a long way on moderate talent & a huge ego. CZJ came to fame through appearing in a soap opera, playing a part which involved little more than walking around looking cute. She then attempted a singing career, which bombed. She then went to Hollywood, and spent some years in lacklustre films, before she got involved with a rich man,( Micheal Douglas) and from then on she was in all the tabloids.

J Lo came to fame in a tribute film to a murdered Tex Mex favourite, Selena Quintanella (I think that how it was spelt). The part involved being cute, and miming to the real Selena's vocals. She then appeared in a few lacklustre films, before she got involved with a rich man, (P Diddy aka Puff aka Sean Coombs)and from then on she was in all the tabloids. The only real difference is that her singing career began after P Diddy, and it has been a success.

Did it work?

Chanelling Johnny Marr :o Cool! 8)

Looking forward to seeing the film but will probably have to wait until it comes out on dvd as we have to go a long way to see non dubbed films and I'm not paying money to listen to the same half dozen Catalan voices that seem to do most of the work. :(
